Le frontiere della povertà, il primo workshop internazionale del Centro Studi Leone XIV

The Centro Studi Internazionale Leone XIV held its first international workshop, titled "Let everything be yours in common. The Frontiers of Poverty," on September 16 and 17 at the Pontificio Istituto Patristico Augustinianum in Rome. The two day event examined the various dimensions of poverty and the responsibilities of the Church, social institutions, and society.

The workshop was organized by the Centro Studi Leone XIV, which is based at the Augustinian Community of Santo Spirito in Florence and led by Father Giuseppe Pagano, OSA. The event was held in collaboration with the Pontificio Istituto Patristico Augustinianum and the Facoltà Teologica dell’Italia Centrale. Participants attended an audience with Pope Leo XIV on September 18.

Coordinators Massimo Faggioli, Simone Morandini, Cristina Simonelli, and Chabi Kolawole dedicated the meeting to the memory of Father Severino Bussino, OSA, who helped plan the workshop before his death. Stefano Maria Mari opened the proceedings by remembering Father Bussino's contributions. Other speakers included Father Juan Antonio Cabrera, president of the Augustinianum, and Father Martin Davakan, OSA, who represented Prior General Father Joseph Farrell. Father Gabriele Pedicino, the provincial prior, opened the second day of the workshop.
