Leo XIV in Paris: A missionary topography

Pope Leo XIV will visit Paris and Saint-Denis on September 25 and 26 during a trip to France that also includes Lourdes and Metz.

On Friday afternoon, the Pope will travel by popemobile along a 2.5-kilometre route from Notre-Dame-des-Champs church to Place Saint-Michel. The parish reports that the name Notre-Dame-des-Champs is linked to a former shrine near the current rue Pierre-Nicole, which tradition identifies as the site where Saint Denis preached to the inhabitants of Lutetia.
