Life is Beautiful Mass recognizes Monsignor Farmer and a daughter of a saint
The Archdiocese of Baltimore awarded Monsignor James Farmer the Culture of Life Medal of Honor during the annual Life is Beautiful Mass. The priest attended a luncheon in his honor at the Catholic Center on Oct. 18 following the ceremony.
Monsignor Farmer served as the archdiocese's pro-life director from 1979 to 1989 and worked as a Baltimore City public defender before entering the priesthood. Collin Kourtz, director of the Office of Life, Justice and Peace, said the award was overdue and noted that many nominees assumed the priest had already been recognized.
The priest has spent decades supporting regional pregnancy centers and the respect life movement. His previous honors include the 2021 Pro-Life Award from Pregnancy Center North and the 2013 Man for All Seasons Award from the St. Thomas More Society.
