Los centros de estudios teológicos diocesanos inauguran un nuevo curso

Bishop José Manuel Lorca Planes presided over a Mass and academic ceremony to launch the new academic year for the diocesan theological study centers in Cartagena. The opening marks the start of studies for priests, religious, and laypeople at the Instituto Teológico San Fulgencio, the Instituto Superior de Ciencias Religiosas San Fulgencio, and the Instituto Superior de Ciencias Religiosas San Dámaso at its distance learning site in Murcia.

During his homily, Bishop Lorca Planes stated that the purpose of training is to prepare students to serve others and announce the Gospel. He told students that the Church requires well-trained evangelizers who are also deeply in love with Christ. The bishop encouraged students to ensure their studies move from the mind to the heart and urged those attending to deepen their prayer lives so that academic knowledge of theology, scripture, philosophy, and pastoral care leads to spiritual growth.
