Lourdes Cáncer Esperanza: la esencial labor de atender espiritualmente a los enfermos oncológicos

Lourdes Cancer Esperanza is organizing a pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Lourdes from September 14 to 18, departing from Madrid. The association, which recently opened a delegation in Spain, provides spiritual support to cancer patients, their families, caregivers, and healthcare workers.

Loreto Martín-Albo, the president of the association, stated that the organization was founded by Jean-Claude Bruel following his own experience with cancer. Bruel sought spiritual support and a way to share faith-based experiences with others facing the disease. The association facilitates pilgrimages to the Sanctuary of Lourdes to offer comfort and spiritual hope to those affected by cancer.

The expansion into Spain follows the association's 40th anniversary in 2025. The move was proposed by members of the Hospitalité Notre Dame de Lourdes who serve at the Sanctuary and observed the spiritual benefits provided by the French pilgrimage model.
