The General Secretariat of the Synod is releasing new documents to dioceses worldwide containing operational proposals for Pope Leo XIV to consider. According to Luigi Casalini, writing for Messainlatino.it, recent releases include a report on relations between bishops, consecrated life, and ecclesial aggregations, as well as a report regarding ad limina visits and the ministry of bishops.

Casalini reports that the Secretariat is sending these documents to dioceses before the Pope has made any decisions on their content. This process has reportedly caused significant confusion, leading some bishops in various local churches to believe the documents represent the official teaching of Pope Leo XIV. Casalini suggests this method is causing serious harm and questions the purpose of the 2028 global ecclesial assembly.
