Madeira: D. Nuno Brás pede responsabilidade aos motociclistas

Bishop Nuno Brás called for individual responsibility among motorcyclists during the I Peregrinação da Bênção dos Capacetes in Machico, Madeira, on September 21, 2026. Addressing hundreds of participants, the Bishop of Funchal warned that divine protection does not excuse reckless driving. He stated that those traveling at 200 kilometers per hour on the highway should not complain to God about the consequences of their actions.

During his homily, the bishop used roads as a metaphor for the Christian life, describing faith as a journey taken with God. He encouraged the motorcycle community to live out their faith publicly during their daily travels.
