„Magasztalja lelkem az Urat…”

Father Lajos shared reflections on his priesthood and the divine signs he experienced throughout his life during a recent sermon. He described how his life was saved by timely help during a dangerous period at birth, which led to his immediate baptism. He viewed this event as a divine sign of his calling, connecting it to the biblical passage where God calls Jeremiah before his birth.

He identified several people as gifts from God who shaped his vocation, including a priest who was his great-uncle, a religious sister who prayed for him, and priests who taught him during his high school years in Győr.

Throughout his ministry, he has used the first sentence of the song praising the Virgin Mary as his motto. He chose these words for his new priest celebration and has continued to use them for his silver and golden jubilee celebrations. In his preaching, he noted that the priestly life contains both joys and difficulties, and he reminded his listeners of Jesus' teaching regarding the necessity of self-denial and taking up one's cross to follow him.
