Magnifica Humanitas: Humans in the Age of AI

Dr. David Deane will lead a discussion on Pope Leo XIV’s encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, on Tuesday, October 29, at St. Ninian Place in Antigonish. The event, part of the Vicar of the Founder Lecture Series at St. Francis Xavier University, begins at 6:30 pm and is free to the public.

The encyclical addresses safeguarding the human person during the era of artificial intelligence. In the document, Pope Leo XIV invites members of the Church and the human family to cooperate in building a more fraternal society and to face modern challenges with courage. The discussion aims to explore how humanity can navigate the rise of machines while preserving human dignity.
