MALAWI: Bishop Chaima Commends CWA for Procuring a Bus
Bishop Alfred Mateyu Chaima commended the Catholic Women Association (CWA) of the Diocese of Zomba for purchasing a 29-seater bus. During a Mass on Monday, October 12, the bishop blessed the vehicle and officially handed it over to CWA leadership at the Bishop’s House in Zomba, Malawi.
In his homily, Bishop Chaima compared the women of the CWA to biblical figures such as Sarah, Hagar, and the Blessed Virgin Mary, stating that God uses them to carry out the work of the diocese. He encouraged the congregation to remain grateful and urged other church associations to follow the example of the CWA.
The bishop advised the CWA leadership to remain focused and to follow the Diocesan Strategic Plan, which runs through 2028. CWA Chaplain Father Michael Mkhomeni thanked the bishop, clergy, and the laity for helping the association achieve this goal.
