MALAWI: Catholic University Gifts the Church a School Block

The Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA) donated a new classroom block to St. Mary’s Primary School in Nzama, Ntcheu District, on Saturday. The facility consists of four classrooms and cost USD 9,229,042.80 to construct.

The handover occurred during celebrations for the 125th anniversary of the Catholic Church in Malawi. Monsignor Fortunatus Nwachukwu, the special envoy of Pope Leo XIV for the anniversary, attended the event and praised the university for supporting community development.

CUNIMA stated the donation is part of its effort to extend educational support to rural areas beyond the university campus. The new classrooms are intended to provide a safer and more supportive learning environment for pupils at the rural school.
