Mariborski nadškof Alojzij Cvikl posvetil v diakona Jureta Goloba in Žigo Krefta

Archbishop Alojzij Cvikl ordained Jure Golob and Žigo Kreft as deacons on October 4, 2026, in Kranjska Gora.

During the ordination, Archbishop Cvikl told the new deacons they are called to serve the Word of God, the altar, and active love. He noted that the diaconate is not merely a step toward priesthood but a permanent way of being a servant of Christ. He encouraged the men to follow the example of St. Francis, who remained a deacon and dedicated his life to the gospel and the poor.

Archbishop Cvikl described the new spiritual vocations as signs that God continues to speak to human hearts and inspire a desire to serve despite modern challenges facing the Church and society.
