Mary Hennessy has experienced more loss than most

Mary Hennessy collaborated with her pastor, Father Jim Perkl, to publish a new book titled Daring Steps: From Darkness to Light. The book, which is available on Amazon, combines Hennessy's spiritual writings with icons created by Father Perkl.

Hennessy, 79, wrote the meditations after receiving them during prayer during difficult periods of her life. She described writing the messages down in a notebook by her bed after being woken up in the middle of the night. She stated that the writings felt like messages from Jesus and were not her own words.

The book was developed through the partnership between Hennessy and Father Perkl of Mary, Mother of the Church parish in Burnsville.
