Mattarella a Grosseto nella “Stanza Rosa”

President Sergio Mattarella visited the Misericordia hospital in Grosseto to tour the Stanza Rosa, a specialized emergency room unit for victims of violence. He was met by regional president Eugenio Giani, provincial president Francesco Limatola, Mayor Antonfrancesco Vivarelli Colonna, and prefect Paola Berardino.

The visit highlighted the Codice Rosa, a care pathway for victims of violence that originated in Grosseto in 2009. The program was inspired by Vittoria Doretti, who led a delegation of medical staff from the Asl Toscana sud est during the visit. The system provides protected access for women, children, the elderly, and vulnerable individuals. As of 2025, the pathway also includes victims of hate crimes based on prejudice or discrimination.

Medical staff in the emergency room, outpatient clinics, and inpatient wards use the protocol to provide care while collecting legal and forensic evidence for investigations and criminal complaints. The model utilizes multidisciplinary teams and various services, and it now includes a dedicated university master's program.
