Megachurch pastor Craig Groeschel follows Tim Tebow in suspending ties to Life Surge

Craig Groeschel, pastor of Life.Church, has suspended his involvement with Life Surge, a series of Christian leadership and finance events. A spokesperson for the Edmond, Oklahoma, based church said Groeschel will not speak at upcoming events in Charlotte, North Carolina; Hartford, Connecticut; Tampa, Florida; or Nashville, Tennessee, following recent reports.

The decision follows an investigation by Mother Jones magazine and podcaster Pablo Torre, which accused Life Surge of pressuring attendees to take on thousands of dollars in debt. Groeschel joins former football player Tim Tebow and basketball coach Joe Mazzulla as speakers who have cut ties with the organization.

Life Surge holds one-day events at stadiums and large churches, claiming to teach Christians how to multiply financial resources. While the organization says it draws 100,000 people annually, Groeschel's spokesperson stated the pastor will continue to prioritize his ministry to his church.
