Messe et procession mariale de Léon XIV sur le lac d’Albano

Pope Leo XIV celebrated the feast of Our Lady of the Lake with a votive Mass and a Marian procession on Lake Albano on Saturday, August 29. During the Mass at the Maria Santissima del Lago church, the Bishop of Rome spoke about the global need for life, hope, serenity, and peace. He urged people not to let evil corrupt their hearts or disfigure humanity.

The Pope became the first pope to navigate the waters of the lake by boat. At the end of the procession, he offered a prayer to the Virgin Mary to protect the people of the earth and to look kindly upon those suffering from war. He also called for peace and expressed solidarity with Christians facing martyrdom, stating that only love saves.
