Between October 1, 2024, and September 13, 2026, 62,378 people went missing in Mexico, according to data reported by Agenzia SIR. This averages approximately 2,600 people per month.

Of those recorded during this period, 20,072 people remain missing. While 42,306 people were located, 3,457 were found dead. President Claudia Sheinbaum has claimed that homicides have been halved during her two years in office, stating the daily average dropped from 86.9 in September 2014 to 40.8 in August. However, experts and non-governmental organizations have cautioned that criminal groups may be changing their methods rather than retreating, noting that areas like the state of Sinaloa continue to experience violence.
