Migranti e rifugiati, i piccoli del Vangelo

Pope Leo XIV has selected the theme "Migrants and refugees, the little ones of the Gospel" for the 2026 World Day of Migrants and Refugees. The Diocese of Padova reported that the theme serves to remind people that every life is precious to God in a time when deaths are often counted and individual lives are sometimes treated as nothing.

The Diocese noted that the Christian community faces criticism when discussing the welcome of migrants, with some accusing the Church of engaging in politics or practicing empty humanitarianism.
