Archbishop Enrique Benavent presides over Thanksgiving Mass for 25th anniversary of beatification of Valencian martyrs

Archbishop Enrique Benavent presided over a Thanksgiving Mass at the Valencia Cathedral on Sunday to mark the 25th anniversary of the beatification of the Valencian martyrs. The liturgy served as the second central event organized by the Archdiocese of Valencia's Vicariate of Evangelization to commemorate the anniversary, following a colloquium with experts held the previous week.

In 2001, Pope John Paul II beatified Valencian priest José Aparicio Sanz and 232 companions who were martyred in Spain between 1936 and 1939. This group included diocesan priests, religious men and women, married and single laypeople, and members of various ecclesial movements.
