Modifica dei confini della Diocesi e cambio di nome

The Dicastery for Bishops, with the approval of Pope Leo XIV, has issued a decree reorganizing the boundaries of the Dioceses of Camerino-San Severino Marche and Fabriano-Matelica. The changes align diocesan borders with the civil provinces of Ancona and Macerata.

Under the new decree, the parishes in the municipality of Matelica will join the Archdiocese of Camerino-San Severino Marche. This ecclesiastical jurisdiction will change its name to the Archdiocese of Camerino-San Severino Marche-Matelica.

The Diocese of Fabriano will receive the parishes of Avacelli di Arcevia and the municipalities of Serra San Quirico and Mergo. Following these additions, the territory will be known simply as the Diocese of Fabriano.
