Monastero di Vallegloria finds ancient fabric linked to San Francesco

The Vallegloria monastery community, the Diocese of Foligno, and the municipality of Spello have announced the discovery of an ancient fabric kept within the monastery.

Local tradition identifies the textile as a gift from St. Francis of Assisi to Blessed Balbina during his visit to the ancient cenobio on Subasio. The Diocese of Assisi–Nocera Umbra–Gualdo Tadino reported that the find has brought joy and emotion to the local community.
