Monjas y diócesis de Chicago ganan primera batalla contra ley de eutanasia impuesta por Partido Demócrata en Illinois

A federal judge ruled on September 11 that an Illinois euthanasia law does not apply to certain Catholic entities. Franklin U. Valderrama issued the order following a legal challenge by Cardinal Blase Cupich, the Archdiocese of Chicago, the Hermanas Carmelitas para los Ancianos y Enfermos, and the Hermanitas de los Pobres.

The ruling does not suspend the law for the entire state of Illinois. The decision specifically protects the Catholic organizations that filed the lawsuit.
