Mons. Fabián Antúnez SJ highlights the Ad Limina visit as an experience of great grace and encounter with the universal Church

Bishop Fabián Antúnez SJ described his recent Ad Limina visit to Rome as a meaningful encounter with the universal Church. Speaking on the Radio 41 program Momento de reflexión, the Bishop of San José de Mayo shared his impressions of traveling to Rome with other Uruguayan bishops to meet with Pope Leo XIV.

During an audience with the Pope, the Uruguayan bishops discussed the current state of the Church in their country and the challenges of evangelization. They also expressed the joy with which Uruguay is preparing for the Pope's upcoming visit in November. Bishop Antúnez noted that the Pope expressed a desire to return to Latin America.

The bishops also met with various Dicasteries to discuss topics including vocations, consecrated life, family, the laity, education, and the impact of digital culture on evangelization. Bishop Antúnez also highlighted the fraternity shared among the bishops and the opportunity to meet with Uruguayan priests and citizens in Rome.
