Bishop Álvaro Chordi publishes pastoral letter

Bishop Álvaro Chordi published a pastoral letter for the Archdiocese of Santiago regarding the 2025–2029 pastoral orientations. The letter invites the local Church to announce the joy of the Gospel within the city.

Monsignor Chordi stated that proclaiming the Gospel is the core identity of the Church rather than just one activity among many. He noted that when communities stop announcing the faith, they risk becoming inward looking and focusing only on maintaining existing structures or serving current participants.

The bishop explained that the Christian vocation stems from an encounter with Christ that must be shared with others. He emphasized that faith is a gift from God that requires committed people to witness to it and proclaim it to others.
