Monseñor Jesús Torres participó en el encuentro para nuevos obispos en Roma y se encontró con el Papa León XVI

Bishop Jesús Torres of Guaviare attended a training course for newly appointed bishops in Rome from September 2 to 10. The program included bishops from five continents and featured seven representatives from Colombia, including the bishops of Vélez, Tumaco, Guapi, Leticia, and two auxiliary bishops from Cali.

The course covered various aspects of episcopal ministry, including spiritual and pastoral formation, peace, and economics. Participants met with cardinals and officials from Holy See departments, such as Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin. Cardinal Paolo Rudelli, the former apostolic nuncio to Colombia, presided over some of the Eucharistic celebrations.

The gathering concluded with a meeting where the new bishops personally greeted Pope Leo XVI.
