More than 1,000 join March for Life in Vilnius, Lithuania

More than 1,000 pro-life advocates gathered in Vilnius, Lithuania, on Sept. 26 for the country's second March for Life. Participants, including families, students, and elderly people, walked through rain and fog to affirm the dignity of all human life.

The event featured musical performances, speeches, and personal testimonies. Saulius Karosas, a father, spoke about how his family's perspective on human worth changed after welcoming children with Down syndrome. Organizers stated the march aimed to focus on the realities of family life rather than political slogans. Speakers addressed topics such as motherhood, fatherhood, disability, illness, and old age.

The march occurred as Lithuanian lawmakers continue to debate reproductive legislation, including access to abortion and in vitro fertilization, as well as family policy and declining birth rates. The event also drew pro-life advocates from the Americas and other parts of Europe.
