Movimento Eucaristico celebrates 30 years in São Luís

The Eucharistic Movement in São Luís, Maranhão, celebrated its 30th anniversary during an annual observance on August 12. The community marked the milestone through prayer and praise before the Blessed Sacrament at the Instituto Farina chapel.

The movement began in 1996 when Sister Maria Teresa Merlo and Sister Donata Azzini proposed the lay movement to school employees. Members from various parishes participate in monthly meetings to deepen their spirituality based on the teachings of São João Antônio Farina and the Magisterium of the Church. A team of laypeople coordinates the movement. Participants commit to loving, adorating, repairing, and thanking.
