Mr. Bartholomeo Tham Nguyen

Bartholomeo Tham Nguyen, the 65-year-old brother of Father Viet Nguyen, died on Friday, September 11, 2026, in Vietnam. The Chancellor’s Office of the Diocese of Saint Petersburg reported that Mr. Nguyen was swept away by flood waters during torrential storms in the country.

Father Nguyen serves as the pastor of Holy Martyrs of Vietnam Parish in St. Petersburg. He is traveling to Vietnam to support his family and celebrate the funeral mass for his brother. The diocese requested prayers for the family and for Father Nguyen during his travels.
