Muhamud sets fire to house with daughters inside

Muhamud set fire to his home in Kibenge, Kasese District, Uganda, around midnight on September 6, targeting his daughters Amina and Shamila while they slept. According to ZENIT News Agency, Muhamud doused the house with petrol and ignited it because the girls converted to Christianity on August 26. He reportedly told them he would act to fulfill Islamic law following their rejection of Islam.

The girls escaped the fire by removing bricks to create a hole in the wall. Christian neighbors arrived to rescue them and contacted local leaders. While the fire destroyed their mattresses, clothing, and most personal belongings, both girls survived. Amina stated that the incident has strengthened her and her sister's faith. Local Christian leaders condemned the arson, stating the act violated Ugandan law.
