A Muslim neighbor shot and killed a 21-year-old Christian woman inside her home in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, on September 3, according to a report from Christian Daily International.

Adnan Butt allegedly entered the house at 9 p.m. and ordered the victim's relatives to leave. After repeatedly striking Saba Mehboob, Butt shot her in the forehead, killing her instantly. Joshua Mehboob, the victim's brother, stated that the neighbor's anger may have been fueled by Saba's previous rejection of him. The report notes that Butt had harassed Saba on several occasions, including blocking her path to the market.

Following the shooting, Butt reportedly kidnapped Saba's 16-year-old stepbrother, Anoosh, and took him to the home of Butt's brother-in-law. There, Anoosh was allegedly threatened with death by several people unless he remained silent or confessed to the murder. The teenager was held until the following afternoon after the family agreed not to file a police report.
