Diocese of Valledupar forms 9 new communities of couples

The Diocese of Valledupar has formed nine new communities of couples following a formation weekend held at the Juan Pablo II Seminary. Approximately 80 couples from various parishes participated in the event to begin a new stage of diocesan formation and spiritual growth for their families.

The new communities include participants from parishes in Valledupar, San Juan del Cesar, Curumaní, Chiriguaná, and La Jagua de Ibirico. Specifically, the couples represent the Cathedral, Natividad, Reina de la Paz, Corazón de María, and San Francisco de Asís parishes in Valledupar, as well as Santa María del Camino, Divino Niño de San Juan, Carmen de San Juan, and San Juan Bautista in San Juan; Carmen de Curumaní and Chiquinquirá in Chiriguaná; and Divina Pastora and San Miguel in La Jagua de Ibirico.

Eleven catechists and the Diocesan Commission assisted the couples during the weekend of encounter and fraternity. Bishop Óscar José Vélez Isaza presided over the Sunday Eucharist to mark the start of the formation process for the couples.
