Nazareth Academy Students Gather in Kentucky

Former students of Nazareth Academy in Gaya, India, met in Nazareth, Kentucky, to reunite and discuss their shared history. The gathering brought together alumni from various years who now live in states including California, New York, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and North Carolina.

The reunion took place at a location tied to the school's origins. The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth established Nazareth as their Motherhouse in 1822, and in 1947, six sisters traveled from Kentucky to India, a move that eventually led to the establishment of Nazareth Academy.

During the event, participants shared stories about their families, careers, and lives since leaving the school. Several sisters who previously served at the academy in Gaya also shared memories of their time in India, including recollections of classrooms, school celebrations, and the school's growth over the decades.
