Nepal holds funerals without bodies

Families in Nepal are conducting funeral rites without bodies one month after devastating floods hit the country. Search teams continue to dig through mud and debris to find the remains of those lost in the disaster.

Nirajan Poudel, who lost 5 family members including his father and mother, reported searching for their bodies for 8 days without success. He performed a final farewell by burning effigies made of Kush, a sacred grass used in rituals. Thousands of people remain missing as recovery efforts continue.
