New House for Priests Blessed in Memory of Wabag Pioneer Priest

The Diocese of Wabag blessed a new house for priests at Imangapos in Pumakos Parish on 15 September 2025. The building was constructed to honor the late Father Lawrence Kambao.

Father Kambao was the first diocesan priest from Pumakos. He was ordained for the Diocese of Wabag in 1992 and served as the parish priest of Mariant in Kandep until his death in 1995. The blessing took place on the eve of the 50th independence anniversary of Papua New Guinea.
