New sensory classroom in Freehold school receives Bishop’s blessing
Bishop David M. O'Connell blessed a new sensory classroom at St. Rose of Lima School in Freehold on Oct. 6.
The classroom was developed using grants provided to St. Rose of Lima and four other Catholic grammar schools: St. Rose Grammar in Belmar, St. Mary of the Lakes in Medford, Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Asbury Parish, and Our Lady of Good Counsel in Moorestown. These funds support the creation of sensory spaces and the training of staff to assist students with special needs.
The blessing ceremony included school principal Kathy Leonetti, St. Rose of Lima pastor Father Joel Wilson, and diocesan superintendent of Catholic education Dr. Vincent de Paul Schmidt.
