Knights of Columbus open St. John Paul II retreat house in Washington

The Knights of Columbus opened the St. John Paul II retreat house in the Brookland neighborhood of Northeast Washington on Aug. 26. The facility, which is located adjacent to the St. John Paul II National Shrine, serves as a new spiritual center.

The opening included a Mass, a blessing, and prayers to St. John Paul II and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Baltimore Archbishop William Lori, the supreme chaplain of the Knights of Columbus, participated in the blessing of the building. The Knights of Columbus also operates the national shrine.
