Ngày 19/09: Thánh Gianuariô, Giám Mục, Tử Đạo

The Church honors St. Januarius, a bishop and martyr, on September 19. Born in Italy in 270, Januarius was ordained a priest in 320 and later became the bishop of Bénévent.

He served his diocese and the Sardique community during a period of intense persecution. Januarius frequently visited prisoners to encourage their faith and provide comfort.

After being captured in Pouzzoles, Januarius underwent torture and was sentenced to death by being thrown to wild animals. He died as a martyr in Pouzzoles in 350.
