Sąd Biskupi Diecezji Sosnowieckiej to organize conference on sexual abuse in Church

The Bishop's Court of the Diocese of Sosnowiec will host a conference titled "Sexual Abuse in the Church: See, Understand, Heal" on October 15 at the WSB Academy in Dąbrowa Górnicza. Organized by the diocesan court, the event is held under the patronage of Bishop Artur Ważny.

Three speakers will address the issue from different perspectives. Natalia de Barbaro will discuss the long-term effects of trauma, the process of disclosure, and the importance of how survivors' stories are received. Professor Anna Wilk will examine the legal rights of survivors and the practical ways they can seek civil liability and justice. Tomasz Krzyżak will address how Church institutions should respond and act responsibly once a report of abuse is made.
