Bishop Giovani Arana calls for dialogue and reconciliation

Bishop Giovani Arana called for dialogue and reconciliation during a Sunday Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels in La Paz. Arana, the bishop of El Alto and secretary general of the Bolivian Episcopal Conference, addressed the country's current tension and uncertainty by urging social organizations, leaders, government authorities, and citizens to create sincere spaces for listening.

Arana stated that the nation does not need more insults or disqualifications that turn differences into enmities. He explained that dialogue does not require everyone to think the same way, but rather to recognize the dignity of others as fundamental members of Bolivia.

During his homily, the bishop emphasized that Christian faith is measured by actions rather than intentions. He warned that people often speak of justice and peace while contradicting those values through selfishness or by ignoring injustices and encouraging confrontations.
