Pope Leo XIV expressed support for using artificial intelligence to promote dialogue, reconciliation, and solidarity during the AI4Peace global symposium at the Pontificia Universidad de Letrán. In a message released on International Day of Peace, the Pope suggested that technological innovation could be transformed into instruments for peace.

Andrea Ciucci, the chancellor of the Academia Pontificia para la Vida, read the Pope's words, which stated that artificial intelligence development requires wisdom and charity to serve human dignity and strengthen global bonds. The symposium brings together academics, experts, diplomats, and international organizations to discuss the relationship between AI, conflict, and peacebuilding.

Following the symposium, a ceremony will launch the Asociación Internacional AI4Peace. This permanent international platform intends to foster dialogue between scientists, economists, religious representatives, and diplomats. Ciucci is also scheduled to read the symposium's conclusions on Tuesday.
