Bishop Mauro Maria Morfino makes 5 appointments

Bishop Mauro Maria Morfino of Alghero-Bosa announced several new appointments for priests within the diocese on September 28, 2026.

According to the diocesan chancellor, Don Marco Ledda will serve as the parish administrator for Santa Giulia in Padria, San Giovanni Battista in Mara, and Santa Maria degli Angeli in Romana. Don Giuseppe Giau was appointed parish administrator for Sant’Andrea apostolo in Birori and collaborator for the parishes of Macomer, Sant’Antonio abate in Silanus, and San Pietro apostolo in Lei. Father Piero Pierobon SX will also serve as a collaborator for the parishes in Macomer.

Father Vito Lombardi, previously the parish priest of San Giorgio martire in Pozzomaggiore, will continue as the parish administrator for San Giorgio martire in Semestene.

Monsignor Angelo Cocco reported that the episcopal conference also named Don Lorenzo Piras as the regional coordinator for health pastoral care for the 2026-2031 term. Piras currently serves as the parish administrator for N. S. di Loreto in Sa Segada and the director of the diocesan office for health pastoral care.
