Not Made for the Machine: Thoughts from the ‘Better Way Forward for Women’ Convention

Women gathered at the Lyon Mansion in Rochester, New York, for the Better Way Forward for Women convention to discuss moral, technological, and economic challenges. The event, described as a Declaration of Interdependence, sought to address these issues through the lens of human dignity and female embodiment.

Legal scholar and founding editor of Fairer Disputations Erika Bachiochi opened the convention with a call for a renewed women's movement. While the event encouraged the pursuit of female excellence and healthy disagreement, Nora Kenney Mittiga noted that the convention's attachment to feminism may limit its effectiveness. Mittiga also questioned Bachiochi's characterization of a rising masculinist backlash on the internet as a significant threat to women.
