Notice from the Office of Liturgical Celebrations

Pope Leo XIV will preside over a Mass to inaugurate the academic year of the Pontifical Universities at 18.00 on Thursday, 8 October 2026, in Saint Peter’s Basilica.

Patriarchs and Cardinals attending to concelebrate are requested to arrive by 17.15 in the Chapel of Saint Sebastian with their white damask mitre. Archbishops and bishops attending to concelebrate must also arrive by 17.15 and bring their simple white mitre.

Priests and deacons wishing to concelebrate must obtain tickets from the Office of Liturgical Celebrations by 6 October via the indicated website, subject to availability. These participants are advised to arrive by 17.00 at the Braccio di Costantino and bring an amice, alb, cincture, and red stole.
