Notre Dame field hockey team lives up to coach’s expectations in early season

Notre Dame High field hockey players secured a 2-1 overtime victory against Allentown on Sep. 16, improving their early season record to 3-1. The win against the defending Colonial Valley Conference Tournament champion marked a significant test for the Lawrenceville-based team, which had previously lost three straight times to the Redbirds.

Coach Cheryl Harris said the team met her expectations following a strong start where the Irish have outscored opponents 21-8. Harris noted that the team's success stems from having many experienced players, as most of the lineup consisted of juniors last year. She credited captains Tori Suschke, Grace Marrone, and Adria Durkin for providing leadership and competitive drive.

Suschke currently leads the team with 15 points, including 5 goals and 5 assists. Her overtime goal against Allentown also marked her 100th career point.
