Numru ta’ ġurati arrestati b’rabta mal-ġuri ta’ Yorgen Fenech

Police have arrested several individuals who served as jurors during the trial of Yorgen Fenech. The Malta Police Investigation Department is conducting the investigation, which focuses on public social media comments allegedly made by the jurors before the trial began.

The police stated on Thursday that the investigation is based exclusively on these public statements and not on other theories or allegations reported in the media. The arrested jurors have since been released on police bail while investigations continue.

This development follows the conclusion of the Yorgen Fenech trial regarding the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. On September 2, Fenech was acquitted of all charges after jurors voted 8 to 1 to find him not guilty on both counts.
