Nuncio: Beatitudes are ‘self-portrait of Jesus,’ allowing Christians to see what he values

Archbishop Gabriele G. Caccia, the papal nuncio to the United States, said the Beatitudes serve as a self-portrait of Jesus that shows Christians what he values.

He spoke to students, faculty, and administrators during a Mass on Sept. 3 to mark the start of the academic year at The Catholic University of America in Washington. Archbishop Caccia stated that Catholic education should help students strengthen their identity as children of God made in his image and likeness.
