Nuove iscrizioni da parte di tutte le Chiese di Basilicata all’Istituto Teologico di Basilicata “Mons. Giuseppe Vairo” a Potenza

All churches in Basilicata will send new students to the Mons. Giuseppe Vairo Theological Institute of Basilicata in Potenza starting with the 2026-2027 academic year.

The bishops of Basilicata announced that the Potenza institute will become the only location where students can enroll for first-year studies. The Institute of Religious Sciences in Matera will stop accepting new first-year students but will allow those already enrolled to complete their courses.

In a letter, the bishops stated that this move concentrates their energy and resources into a single center. They asked pastoral workers, those preparing for permanent diaconate or other ministries, and the faithful to share this information within their communities. The bishops described the change as the beginning of a shared project intended to serve local communities.
