L'Osservatore Romano hails Breviary of St. Francis of Assisi publication

L'Osservatore Romano praised the publication of the Breviary of St. Francis, a volume edited by Danimir Pezer and released by Edizioni Antonianum. The Vatican newspaper noted that the book stands out among the various conferences and publications marking the 800th anniversary of the saint's death.

The newspaper republished the introduction to the edition, which was written by Father Cassian Folsom, O.S.B., the founder of the Monastery of St. Benedict in Norcia, Italy. The publication highlights the importance St. Francis of Assisi placed on praying the Divine Office, a subject he addressed in both his Rule of 1221 and his Rule of 1223.
