Objects in your rearview mirror are smaller than they appear

Father John Girotti recently returned to the seminary in Maryland where he was trained for the priesthood to lead a retreat and preach homilies to seminarians.

During his visit, Girotti noted that several aspects of the campus seemed different from his memories. He observed that the chapel appeared simpler, the classrooms seemed more disorganized, and his former dormitory felt smaller than he remembered. He also remarked that the campus grass, the sound of the church bell, and the quality of the food did not match his past experiences. Additionally, he noted the young age of the current seminarians compared to his own time at the institution.
