Occidens: conocer las raíces de Europa, para volver a ellas

Matías Jove and the Fundación Universitaria Española have organized a lecture series titled “Occidens” to examine the cultural foundations of Europe. Held at the Fundación Universitaria Española assembly hall in Madrid, the course seeks to help participants understand, admire, and preserve heritage by studying its origins in Athens, Rome, and Jerusalem.

The program includes a series of lectures covering historical achievements and crises, as well as contemporary challenges that threaten continuity. Jove, who also serves as the director of the Asociación Española Cuba en Transición, designed the course to analyze ideological layers affecting modern society and to explore how returning to cultural roots might help restore stability.
